Cards from Crazy Sexy Loves Notes by Kris Carr

In his book A New Earth, Eckhart Tolle writes: "Being aware of your breath forces you into the present moment - the key to all inner transformation. Whenever you are conscious of the breath, you are absolutely present. You may also notice that you cannot think and be aware of your breathing. Conscious breathing stops your mind." For this reason, even just a single conscious breath can become a meditative act. And it can be done anywhere! 

In today's cards from Kris Carr's Love Notes, you'll see that the first figure is taking deep breaths as she walks. A reminder that even if you are rushing around today, you can take some deep conscious breaths as you go. 

There are many benefits to breathing deeply - it is a natural painkiller, improves blood flow, posture, and digestion, it stimulates the lymphatic system and reduces inflammation. It also increases your energy levels and can help to cleanse any negative or stale energy (chi) from your system. 

A particularly simple but effective from of breathing meditation is to imagine pure cleansing crystalline energy coming in through your crown with each in-breath, and then sending love out (to your environment, a specific person, place, or situation or to the universe) on your out breath. Try it and notice how it elevates your energy!
