Deck: Everyday Witch Tarot by Deborah Blake and Elisabeth Alba
The witch sits meditatively in the sand, enjoying the ocean breeze on her face. Behind her is a beautiful castle she has taken time to build. The tide is coming in fast, and will surely swallow it up, probably taking the cups with it. Either way, she doesn't seem particularly bothered. For her, the enjoyment was in building the thing, she does not need to 'possess' it. What is the lesson here for you?
Nothing in the world is permanent, and we’re foolish when we ask anything to last, but surely we’re still more foolish not to take delight in it while we have it. ― W. Somerset Maugham
There is also a playful warning in this card - if the cat catches that crab he's likely to get hurt. In other words, be careful what you wish for.
