27/01/18 - Moving on (during the eclipse?)

27 January 2018

Following on from yesterday's post and the new 'Rift' Tarot Spread on strained relationships, today's draw from the Radiant Rider-Waite is about moving on. If you're truly ready to leave hurt, heartbreak and grief behind you - if you're through with the mental anguish and upset represented in the Three of Swords - it's the only thing to do. This might literally mean moving or physically leaving something, but it could also refer to a change in your emotional state or your relationship with yourself or others. If you look (honestly) within, you'll know what this refers to.

Whatever it is, in the Eight of Cups we see someone 'walking away'. It looks as though they were in the middle of building something (see the partially-completed tower of cups?) but they have chosen to leave it behind, unfinished. Free of any baggage, they are moving on to a fresh start although they do have some support in the form of a "walking stick" which might also be the Ace of Wands! What do you need to leave behind you? (This isn't limited to relationships - think about situations or emotions that no longer serve you too.) What support will you need?

By stepping away from upsetting memories and emotions, you will find a renewed sense of confidence and empowerment. The Magician is a reminder that you should focus your intentions on what you want to create for your future (and not the things that have hurt you in the past). Your thoughts create your reality so use them wisely. You will have all the resources that you need at your disposal.

Interestingly, there is an eclipse in the central card - a time of change and magic - and we are about to experience a super blue blood moon eclipse in the next few days. Find out more about that here. According to some sources (such as this article) it's a time of significant change and it will "bring about feelings of rapid movement of things in our lives that we have never experienced before". I can't wait to see what unfolds!
