Deck: Wisdom of the Oracle by Colette Baron-Reid, illustrated by Jena DellaGrottaglia
Did you ever see the 1998 film 'Sliding Doors'? The main character Helen (played by Gwyneth Paltrow) gets fired from her job and drops her earring in the lift before rushing for her train. From that point, we see two alternative timelines - one in which she catches the train, and one where she misses it. There are some parallels in the two versions of Helen's life, but whether or not she gets on that train makes a huge difference to the way things pan out for her.

Everything we do has consequences, and like Helen, we are often oblivious to the seemingly small things that go on to have a major impact on our lives - it could be as simple as missing a train. However, there are other times when a conscious decision is necessary. When 'Fork in the Road' appears, you have an opportunity to consider the importance and consequences of a choice BEFORE you make it.

The picture suggests there are two forces at play in your decision-making. One is a white owl, symbol of wisdom, ascension of the soul, the magic of the universe and linked with the moon/intuition. The other is a masked monkey - I think of him as representing 'mind-chatter' and ego/fear-based decision making. Only you can decide which you will listen to, but I know whose advice I'd rather take!
